Pier-Luc Laurin
Managing Director of the Institut du véhicule innovant, Pier-Luc Laurin graduated from the UQAM’s School of Management (ESG UQAM) with a bachelor’s degree in business administration (international management profile), and will complete a master’s degree in public administration (international management profile) from the École nationale d’administration publique in 2025. Throughout his university career, he has also obtained a certificate in Quebec studies from the Université de Montréal and a training attestation in ethics and professional conduct from the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières. He is also a graduate of the Institut de la diplomatie du Québec (Quebec Institute of Diplomacy).
Pier-Luc is an expert manager in the field of transportation electrification, and his career path reflects this. For the past four years, he has worked at Investissement Québec as a specialized advisor, Export – Transportation Sector – United States, and more recently as Senior Advisor – Community Relations – Battery Sector. Previously, he was Business Development Manager (Electric Trucks) for North America at Lion Électrique, as well as Coordinator, Electric Circuit – Public Affairs at Hydro Québec.
Pier-Luc has been involved in the field of transportation electrification for the past ten years, and has been a key player in a number of major breakthroughs, such as the installation of Quebec’s first fast-charging station and the launch of Lion Electric’s first electric truck. A fervent promoter of innovation, his ambition is to position the Laurentians and Quebec as a hub for innovative vehicles.
Outside of work, Pier-Luc is highly committed. He is currently a municipal councillor for the town of Prévost, sitting on various commissions, and a member of the Rivière-du-Nord Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In recent years, he has also given his time to the Comité Énergie of the Union des municipalités du Québec, as well as to various youth-related organizations.
